Somehow, we have come to the erroneous belief that we are all but flesh, blood, and bones, and that's all.

It wasn't often that Noel was seen 'alone'. Her lanky black cat was almost always at her side. But for the moment she was alone, wanting to have a little fun. She'd sent Aggie out on her own to hunt, the lanky cat could use the time as she pleased. Hunting mice, terrorizing bugs or attacking the ankles of unsuspecting humans. It didn't matter much to the female vampire, but for now she needed a moment to surround herself in the sweet smell of blood.

The woman looked as she belonged here, that of course was the whole point. Her tight fitting black leather pants and the tight fitting black tank top showed off the curves of her body. She'd even worn shoes, it was a rare thing given her extreme distaste for the restrictions they gave her movements. But given where she was the young vampire knew it was best. She'd even opted for hat one pair of black heels she owned giving her a little added height. At five feet seven she wasn't exactly short, but every little inch made a difference.

Standing in the middle of the dance floor Noel could hear every beat of the music and smell the blood in the room. It was enough to drive her just a little bit crazy. She struggled a little to keep her fangs hidden. Thankfully though for the humans here they had nothing to worry about, she'd fed recently so the overwhelming need for blood wasn't as strong.

That however didn't stop her from eying the jugular of one of the men that danced near her. His only saving grace was the wedding ring on his left hand. It was enough to make Noel take a step back when she saw it. She may have been a cold calculated killer but she wasn't about to destroy a family. She'd lost her own family as a young child and no child deserved to grow up without their parents.

Moving her focus from the married man she then focused on someone else, her gray blue eyes fluttered slightly as she took a deep breath and drew the scent towards her. She wasn't sure what it was exactly that drew her attention but the vampire was curious. With smirk she moved closer, with a grace that was far from human, yet just natural enough to seem like dancing. Her movements took her to the bar where she slipped into the seat beside them. "I'll have whatever they're having." Noel said to the bartender then looked to to the figure beside her. A smile crossed her lips as eyed them playfully, "The next round is on me..." She offered with a coy smile.

Boredom had been what had drawn Selene to the club, but it wasn’t doing much to alleviate it. To be fair, she hadn’t been there for that long and, to be fairer, her mood had more to do with a job she’d completed earlier that day. On the surface, there hadn’t been anything that should have put her in a bad mood. There hadn’t been any complications, no injuries had been sustained in the taking of the painting, and she’d been compensated fairly. It had been easy.

Too easy.

Selene loved a challenge and the more difficult something was the more she enjoyed completing it. The simple fact was that retrieving the painting had been far too easy for her and she had only taken the job as a personal favor, otherwise she would have just said no right off the bat. She was sulking, she could at least admit that to herself, but apathy was the extent to which she’d let it go. She’d take on another case soon, a more challenging one (and ideally away from New Orleans), and then she’d get to have some fun. Until then she’d just explore more of the city and stay clear of the local pack; hopefully, if she left them alone, than they’d leave her alone.

She had been about to take another sip of her bourbon when she noticed a scent moving closer to her. The wolf had scented the vampire when she’d gotten here, but had ignored them. Well, it looked as if that was coming to an end. The vampire took the seat next to her and ordered the same drink as her. Hmm. Selene’s face was set in its usual polite mask and she offered a friendly smile in return. “Thank you. I was afraid I’d be drinking alone,” she laughed lightly. Inwardly, she was wondering why the vampire had decided to come over here. What did she want?

Boredom was the root of all things tonight, it was the main reason she was even in this place and why she was forcing herself to mingle with these humans when she really couldn't care less about them. All she really cared about was having a little fun. Usually that sort of fun meant going after some poor unsuspecting human but for the moment she was holding back. That might get her in trouble later if she held off the cravings for too long but for the moment she was fine, the humans had nothing to fear.

As long as she could fight the urge to drain someone dry.

It was her own curiosity that had drawn her away from her thoughts and closer to the bar. The men had lose her interest especially the married one. So the young vampire saw no need in lingering here when there was something far more interesting not far from her. The woman seemed different though she couldn't quite put her finger on what it amused her.

Once she'd sat herself down and gotten the bourbon she eyed it then took a sip, it wasn't blood, and she'd probably regret it later but for the moment she could keep up appearances, that is unless this woman knew there was more to her, just as she did. Noel shrugged off the thought and smiled.

"Spending the night alone isn't much fun... trust me I know. I lost interest in all of this long ago." She said lifting her hand a little, to motion around herself. This place though lovely and even amusing wasn't much to a vampire when she was trying not to kill. "So tell me.... what brings you here alone? You hardly seem the type that couldn't have someone on your arm if you so desired." Noel asked with a curious expression on her face. It wasn't as if she truly cared, but she couldn't help but wonder and be intrigued by the woman who sat alone at the bar.

Selene took another sip of bourbon as she studied the vampire out of the corner of her eye. The vampire looked at the drink before taking some; yes the wolf supposed she wouldn’t be as quick to drink something other than blood. Most vampires would drink to keep up appearances and many she’d known actually liked to mix alcohol with blood. An option she doubted the other woman would be getting here. But if the vampire needed blood, then there were many unsuspecting candidates present in the club. As long as it wasn’t her, though she doubted that many vampires would pick a lycan to feed from when there were humans around.

She nodded when the woman spoke, a slightly amused smile playing on her lips. The wolf wondered how old the vampire really was, though if she had to guess Selene wouldn’t say much more than over a century. Still, she could understand the feeling. “And yet here you are,” she commented. Whether that statement was entirely about the vampire being in the club or joining her at the bar was an open question.

Selene laughed softly, “While that description does wonders for my ego, I came here on short notice. This place seemed as good as any other.” Pausing to take another sip of her drink, she continued, “And I could ask the same of you.”
