Because of her simple upbringing she is most often quiet as a mouse. However, in recent years since she was turned she's become quite outspoken. Standing up for herself and of course, making a name for herself in the dating world. She has a fire about her one that certainly would not have developed had she remained within the Amish community. But because of her circumstances, she had to leave. And therefore, changed who she was in the process over the years.
Loyal to those that she cares about one certainly would not want to cross this woman as she's liable to rip your head off if you anger her in anyway. But there is more to her then just loyalty, anger all of those things. She is still a god fearing woman even if she knows she's not able to fall back on that life. Religion was such a big part of her life and once she was turned into a blood sucking monster, that was taken away from her.
Over the years though, she grew out of being that shy, meek and quiet woman that she had been raised to be into a very confident and very successful businesswoman. And she wouldn't trade what she's become for the world, now. Even if there is a part of her that wishes she could go back to a simple way of living.
Nothing would allow that now because she's seen as one of the Devil's creatures, now
Being born into the Amish way of life isn't for everyone. But to Lenore, it was everything. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania originally, she grew up a happy child. She never knew the wants or desires of anything else beyond the need for God and family. Her mother, a simple homemaker took pleasure in the small things-- keeping house, baking cookies, sewing dresses while her father worked as a farmer and was a well respected member of the community.
Growing up she was a very, very happy child. Unfortunately, though, she would become an only child as her parents struggled with loss after loss. It wasn't uncommon, of course but since Amish families were known to have more than one child for them it was devastating. But they managed and remained thankful for the one daughter that they had.
Turning 18, she fell in love and married a well respected farmer's son within the community. Things quickly fell into place for her as to what was expected. Marriage made her happy. While her husband had his work, she had her hands full with taking care of the house, cooking and even doing a bit of baking for the community itself. When she wasn't doing that, it was attending church services which were held at a members home and switched for every service.
Things were very well for her and her husband but she knew that it was expected of them to have children. It was a lot harder than she expected it to be, but try as they might children didn't seem as if it were in the cards for her.
It wasn't long before she found herself with child but it wouldn't last because while she was desperate to tell her husband the good news, she wanted to hold off to make sure that there wouldn't be any sort of issues. But she'd never get that chance. As she was finishing her chores for the evening, the moon still high in the sky, she was rummaging around in the barn when she was attacked.
Fighting back, screaming in Dutch, she found it no use against the man that held her. When she felt him bite into her neck, it was then when it all ended for her. After that all she saw was black...
Waking several hours later, or so it seemed Lenore felt as if she hadn't had anything to eat or drink in days. But she quickly found that anything she tried to eat didn't settle well with her.
But one thing did.
As a new vampire, she was finding that there were a lot of things that she could and couldn't do. Her reflexes were a lot better as well as her sight, hearing and even her sense of smell. But there were drawbacks as well and she found out one of them all too quickly.
It burned. Badly.
Things would only become much worse in her life when her husband realized what was going on rather quickly. She wouldn't leave the house during the day, she didn't attend church or even eat. After speaking with the Bishop, it was first thought that she was possessed.
They would find out differently, however. And before she knew it, she was being shunned from everything and from everyone that she loved. To them, she was the devil and there was no way to fix her.
And so, Lenore was sent away.
Over the years, she's reinvented herself over and over again to fit with the times, learning that there is and was more to life then the Amish ways. But she's never truly forgotten them.
Or their way of life.
After years of traveling, she's found her home in New Orleans where she's opened a rather successful business with her best friend. It's a matchmaking service and one of the highest quality.
While Lenore may be young compared to a lot of older vampires, she certainly likes to think that she has quite a handle on her abilities. Perhaps this self confidence was brought upon by her no longer being in the community that she grew up in. Whatever the reason however, there are times when she feels as if she is not in control of her abilities.
Clearly, she isn't perfect.
But as a vampire, she has certain abilities that humans do not have. Such as better senses (hearing, taste, sense of smell...), speed and of course strength. The best one however, is how quickly she can heal from a wound and that she's no longer susceptible to human ailments.
As with all vampires, Lenore holds the ability to compel anyone to do as she wishes. If she wants to feed and they aren't being all that cooperative she may use it or, if she thinks she can't get away with a human allowing her to bite and take blood from them. She also has the ability to become rather irresistible in terms of being rather attractive. When Lenore uses this ability, she can charm anyone and attract anyone that she wishes to. Sadly, though, it doesn't seem to work with everyone and she's perfectly fine with that.
Since she is a vampire, she does have weaknesses-- sunlight is a big one and, while she'd found out when she was newly turned how painful it could be it would be nothing compared to if she was exposed for a long period of time. She would most certainly combust. Silver is another, though small amounts can and do hurt as well as potentially leave scars. Because of that Lenore avoids all silver jewelry.
Stakes are another big one so it seems the movies got some right, as well as holy water. Decapitation is another big one, as well-- which results in death.
